So I finally got around to watching all of Young Justice over spring break and it is like one of my top favorite shows! I was totally annoyed about how I had actually seen a good percentage of the episodes in the first season. I wanted to watch something new damn it, not reruns! It was "interesting" how they represented the characters and various story lines. And interesting I mean slightly frustrating because I'm probably one of the few people who read the actual Young Justice comic books. And I mean READ them, they were at my library when I was in high school and I read them over and over again. Oh how Superboy was such a hunk! And the Teen Titian comics, I have them all and I read them a lot. All tho I really need to get my hands on some of the original comics cuz I really want to read those. Back to the show! My all time favorite (and my hubbies) design from the series is Dr. Fates costume. It is so good! I like how they stayed true to a lot of the costumes like Impluse and Kid Flash but fancied up plainer costumes like Nightwing (all tho my pet pev is they didn't run the blue bird symbol down his arms, I hate that! when It's just this little bird symbol on his chest, so out of place). I knew before I started the series that it had already been canned, so I was already bummed from the start. But what really pisses me off is what they fill it's time slot with. Teen Titans Go!? Seriously? Have you seen the commercials?! Like the original of that show wasn't ridiculous enough already?!
Ugh ok cosplay update
COSPLAY PROGRESS:
Raven is done- ish. I'm waiting on some dance tights to come so I can sew the boot stocking to them. I have my worbla to make the silver discs, but still need to make them. The last major thing that needs to be made for Raven is my under leotard, which needs to be engineered the shit out of because it will be holding on my cape as well as holding me in, as I do not quite have the body of a superhero yet.
Starfire is officially underway. Everything is cut out and a lot is pinned up ready to be sewn. I am currently sewing the shoe covers which are the most complicated detailed piece of the costume. I almost finished last night but my sewing machine threw a hissy fit. There is actually a fair bit of sewing to Starfire because of the piping edging on all of the costume except for the body monokini. The wig is about quarter way in rollers before the fabric came and I got started on that.
